How do I know what the answer is from the National Insurance Medical Committee?

Results usually come a few weeks after existence. As mentioned, there are cases in which the committee will determine that additional tests are necessary to determine the disability, and then the applicant will be sent to perform them. There may be certain cases in which the results of the National Insurance Medical Committee will not be final – in these cases, an appeal can be filed against the committee's decision and stand a second time in front of an appeals committee.

I have a percentage of permanent disability, what does this give me?

Disability percentages mean automatic entitlement to receive a financial payment from National Insurance whether an annuity or as a one-time grant.

What are the conditions to receive a disability pension?

Age: 18 years and older and residents of Israel

Income From Work:

You do not work or your income as an employee or self-employed is less than 60% of the average salary, NIS 7,122

Medical Disability:

National Insurance has determined that you are medically disabled at a rate of at least 60%, or at a rate of at least 40% if you have multiple medical deficiencies, and for a particular condition you are medically disabled at a rate of at least 25%.

Disability degree:

It was determined that due to your disability you are unable to work or your ability to earn has decreased by at least 50%, and you have been assigned a degree of incapacity in one of these rates: 60%, 65%, 74% or 100%.

From what age are you entitled to disability benefits?

A person who has been determined to have a degree of medical disability and a degree of incapacity who qualifies for an allowance (at least 60%) will receive it only until retirement age, because the allowance was originally intended to benefit workers whose disability impairs their ability to earn.

I am entitled to a disability pension, when do I receive it?

The disability allowance is paid from the 91st day to determine the degree of incapacity. For example: if you were assigned a degree of incapacity as of January 1, 2020, you will receive an allowance from April 1, 2020. It is possible to receive a retroactive payment for a maximum of 12 months from the date of filing the claim.
